Evan R. Ransom, MD, is a board-certified head and neck surgeon in San Francisco who offers Bay Area patients advanced facial plastic, reconstructive and laser surgery procedures. Dr. Ransom graduated from medical school in the top 10 percent of his class, and is an expert in cosmetic facial and nasal surgical procedures, in addition to Mohs reconstruction, fat grafting and many other leading techniques in facial, head and neck surgery. More About Evan R. Ransom, MD
Evan R. Ransom, MD, attended Northwestern University, located near Chicago, where he researched neurological development and neuronal plasticity, earning a bachelor’s degree in biology and graduating with honors. At Northwestern University, he co-directed the biggest volunteer organization on campus, the Northwestern Community Development Corps. Dr. Ransom then attended the Columbia University College of Physicians and Surgeons in New York City, where he earned his medical degree and graduated in the top 10 percent of his class. Next, Dr. Ransom completed a head-and-neck surgical residency at the University of Pennsylvania, which U.S. News and World Report revealed as a nationwide “top hospital.” Finally, Dr. Ransom carried out a fellowship in facial plastic, reconstructive and laser surgery with Dr. Andrew Jacono — who has been featured on the Discover Fit & Health network and the Oprah Winfrey Network — in New York City and Long Island.
Dr. Ransom then went back to California to open his private practice. In addition to this work, he is an attending surgeon at St. Francis Memorial Hospital, St. Mary’s Medical Center and California Pacific Medical Center in San Francisco. He is also an attending surgeon at Marin General Hospital outside of San Francisco. He belongs to the American Rhinologic Society, the American Academy of Otolaryngology, the American Academy of Facial Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery and Alpha Omega Alpha. Dr. Ransom performs surgical procedures on a pro bono basis for the non-profit organizations Face to Face, Faces of Honor, Operation Access and Healing the Children. Each year he travels abroad to offer cleft lip and palate surgery to babies and children.
